Lightning & Surge Protection

N2G supplies a complete solution, which combines high energy lightning protection with fast acting surge suppression. All surge and lightning protection offered by N2G are manufactured to the highest possible standards and comply with the IEC, VDE, OVE, UL, and ISO 9000.

Lightning Protection (Class 1)


This is our first line of defense against induced lightning (Transients induced into the power system by means of lightning strikes onto utility networks both by overhead and ground strikes).
The device we are looking at here are class I (rated at 10/350 current lightning wave form).
Our Class 1 metal oxide visitor products are of particular significance, because we have developed a range of products which provide fast acting, modular devices with high energy capabilities. These are using semiconductor material as opposed to the antiquated air or spark gap technology.

Surge Suppression (Class 2)


Transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS) are class II devices (Rated at 8/20 us wave form). They are designed to limit transient voltages to a level within the immunity of the sensitive electronic equipment.

N2G successfully combines non degradable, bipolar Silicon Avalanche Diode (SAD) technology for primary protection and Metal Oxide Varistors (MOV) as back up to protection for sensitive digital equipment during lightning strikes or power transients.

SAD 20PR is an SPD for protection against indirect lightning strikes, transients and surges. The surge protective element is SAD. SAD 20PR is intended for protection of sensitive digital equipment. Location of use: sub-distribution boards or as close as possible to a protected device.
